Nowadays global aviation is concerned about improving the safety level focusing its biggest efforts in three types of accidents which are present more often than others meaning the highest loss of aircraft and human lives in a catastrophic way. For this reason, this article pretends to approach one of these is the classes of accident controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) through documental reviews of historic advances and current theories about mitigation ways for these events inside the global aviation and Colombian Armed Forces too. Focusing on ground proximity warning systems for the UH-60 Blackhawks helicopters which develops different kinds of missions as an important air asset into an environment full of hazards and risks. Including its costs will serve as a useful documental base in order to support commander’s decision making for the improvement of operational safety.Downloads
