This article of reflection is the result of a research project related to the importance of Air Superiority and its contribution to the purposes of the Colombian State in the 21st century. This academic contribution elaborated under the documentary analysis methodology proposes a geostrategic view of air superiority which is politically linked through air power as a value within the national interest. The purpose of this research, is to show how air superiority is understood beyond a military capacity, since this condition acquires a geostrategic dimension, by the spectrum of action in the air, space and cyberspace domains of national interest. Similarly, how air superiority creates links between strategic military problems through air power with geographical factors and resources linked to the geopolitical objectives of the Nation. The above implies comprehensive planning, where the allocation of appropriate means allows achieving national goals and ensuring assets of military or political importance. Resulting in the utility of observing in an integral way the geostrategic context of the Colombian State, in relation to the national geopolitical interest and the need to reach a real condition of Air Superiority as part of the National strategic value.
