Abstract

This investigation is an observational quantitative study about aviation accidents in the Colombian Air Force through the HFACS model from 1997 to 2007. It was done to determine the events related to human factors that could be the reason of them and in order to suggest preventive action courses from the analysis of that information. The research problem was: ¿Which are the human factor elements that the model HFACS (Human Factors Analysis Classification Systems) permits to associate to the aviation accidents happened in the Colombian Air Force from 1997 to 2007? To respond, a retrospective longitudinal analytic study was carried out using observational techniques.
